  Cowboy .32

.32 H&R Magnum CowboyThe .32 H&R Magnum may not have been the first choice of gunfighters like Billy the Kid or Wyatt Earp, but it’s carved out a niche as the “gentleman’s magnum” of cowboy action shooting. Originally introduced in 1984 (yes, 1984—not 1884), the .32 H&R arrived like a time-traveling outlaw, packing more punch than a .32 S&W but without the wrist-snapping recoil of its bigger magnum siblings. Think of it as the scrappy underdog of cartridges—light, fast, and ready to prove itself on the range. For those serious about their cowboy action shooting, though, it’s not just about the cartridge. It’s about what you feed it. That’s where Cowboy Choice Ammunition steps in. Our hand-loaded .32 H&R rounds, featuring Hi-Tek coated Chey-Cast bullets, are the gold standard for accuracy and performance. These bullets fly straighter than a saloon keeper’s shot of whiskey. Plus, with Cowboy Choice’s attention to detail, you’ll be ringing steel targets faster than a quick-draw contest in Deadwood. Whether you’re fanning the hammer or taking precise shots, Cowboy Choice Ammunition makes sure your .32 H&R rides into every shootout ready to win. Saddle up and shoot straight!
.32 S&W Long CowboyAh, the good ol’ days of the Wild West—where a man’s word was his bond, and a good revolver could settle a score quicker than a tumbleweed rolling through town. Enter the .32 S&W Long, the little cartridge that didn’t get much fanfare but sure got the job done. Colt later called it the .32 Colt New Police in revolvers it made chambered for the cartridge. A favorite among lawmen, outlaws, and anyone needing a reliable, smaller round, the .32 S&W Long was often paired with compact revolvers that could easily be holstered in a dusty, worn leather belt. There were a few lever action rifles made in the caliber including the Marlin 1891. The caliber wasn’t about knocking someone out of their boots—it was about precision, practicality, and a bit of cowboy flair. Fast forward to today, and the .32 S&W Long still shines in Cowboy Action Shooting and SASS competitions, where its low recoil and accuracy make it a top choice for marksmen. And when it comes to ammunition, Cowboy Choice Ammunition is the brand to trust with our Hi-Tek coated Chey-Cast Bullets. Hand-loaded with care, our .32 S&W Long ammo is crafted for reliability, precision, and performance,…
.32-20 Winchester (.32 WCF) CowboyThe .32-20 caliber or .32 WCF is like the Swiss Army knife of Old West cartridges—it could do it all. Introduced in the 1880s, this little powerhouse was equally at home in a Winchester lever-action rifle or a trusty six-shooter. It was the perfect round for cowboys who needed to drop varmints, ring dinner bells (i.e., tin cans), or let out a “friendly warning” to the local saloon’s no-good card cheat. Its versatility earned it a reputation as the “do-it-all” caliber of its day. If the Old West had social media, the .32-20 would’ve been trending. Fast forward to today, and cowboy action shooters still love the .32-20 for its historical charm and easy-shooting nature. But not all ammo is created equal, partner. That’s where Cowboy Choice Ammunition rides in, guns blazing. Our hand-loaded .32-20 rounds, featuring Hi-Tek coated Chey-Cast bullets, are the smoothest, most reliable ammunition you’ll find this side of the Mississippi (or either side of the Mississippi). Precision-crafted and consistent, these rounds low recoil rounds fly straighter than a ranch hand’s lasso. If you want to dominate cowboy action matches or just relive the glory days of the Old West, Cowboy Choice Ammunition will have you shooting…

  Cowboy .38

.38 Long Colt CowboyThe .38 Long Colt was the Old West’s answer to “How small can a bullet be and still get the job done?” Introduced in the late 1800s, it quickly became the go-to round for some lawmen and soldiers who wanted to carry a revolver without feeling like they were toting a brick. Compact, polite, and just lethal enough to make a bad guy think twice, it became the cartridge of choice for the U.S. Army. Of course, it earned a bit of a reputation during the Philippine-American War, where it reportedly failed to stop some very determined opponents. Let’s just say it wasn’t exactly the Clint Eastwood of calibers. Fast forward to the cowboy action shooting world today, and the .38 Long Colt has found a second life as the perfect choice for shooters who like their Old West gear light and manageable. But if you’re serious about winning your shootouts—or just looking like the smoothest gunslinger on the range—you need Cowboy Choice Ammunition. Our hand-loaded .38 Long Colt rounds with Chey-Cast bullets are precision-crafted to deliver accuracy and consistency that’d make Marshall Dillon jealous. With Cowboy Choice in your cylinder, you’ll hit your targets faster than a gambler drawing…
.38 Special CowboyThe .38 Special might not have strutted its stuff in the true Wild West, but it sure inherited the swagger. Introduced in 1898 as an upgrade from the .38 Long Colt (bless its underwhelming heart), the .38 Special was like the new deputy in town—bigger, badder, and ready to handle trouble. Lawmen loved it, cowboys trusted it, and outlaws feared it. It quickly earned its place as a favorite for revolvers, boasting accuracy and power that could settle disputes faster than a poker cheat caught red-handed. Though technically arriving after the Wild West had settled into legend, let’s not let that get in the way of a good story. Picture this: a grizzled cowboy-turned-town-sheriff using his trusty .38 Special to outshoot a gang of desperados trying to rob the general store. Did it happen? Probably not. Should it have? Absolutely. Today, the .38 Special is a staple in SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) events, beloved for its smooth recoil and historical charm. But listen up, partner—if you’re not buying Cowboy Choice Ammunition, you might be asking for trouble. Our hand-loaded .38 Special rounds with Chey-Cast bullets are like the Wild West equivalent of a perfect cup of coffee—reliable, smooth, and…
.38 Short Colt CowboyThe .38 Short Colt is the Old West’s little underdog, the cartridge equivalent of a scrappy chihuahua in a saloon full of Great Danes. Originally designed for black powder revolvers, it was compact, easy to carry, and just enough to settle disputes over poker games gone wrong. Sure, it wasn’t the “showstopper” like the .45 Colt or .44-40, but the .38 Short Colt had its place—usually in the pocket of a gambler, barkeep, or a stagecoach guard who believed in discretion over destruction. Legend has it, one hapless outlaw mocked a sheriff for carrying a revolver chambered in .38 Short Colt. “What’re you gonna do with that, swat flies?” he sneered. Moments later, the sheriff proved the round’s worth by shooting the cigar clean out of the outlaw’s mouth. Justice was served, and the .38 Short Colt earned a little more respect. Today, cowboy action shooters still enjoy the .38 Short Colt for its mild recoil and vintage charm. And if you want to experience this classic cartridge at its best, Cowboy Choice Ammunition is the way to go. Our hand-loaded rounds with Chey-Cast bullets deliver accuracy and reliability sharper than a saloon girl’s side-eye. Go ahead, shoot like a…

  Cowboy .357

.357 Magnum CowboyThe .357 Magnum is like the John Wayne of cartridges: iconic, powerful, and always ready to deliver justice. Born in the 1930s, it swaggered onto the scene as the beefed-up big brother of the .38 Special, proving itself as a revolver round that could take down bad guys, varmints, and tin cans with equal enthusiasm. Lawmen, gunslingers, and wannabe cowboys alike quickly embraced it, and for good reason—this round packed a wallop and had an ego to match. Now, if you’re serious about your shooting (and your street cred at the range), you don’t just grab any ammo off the shelf. You get a little more hitch in your giddyup with Cowboy Choice Ammunition loaded with Hi-Tek coated Chey-Cast Bullets. These hand-loaded beauties are like artisanal whiskey for your revolver. Precision-crafted, they deliver unparalleled consistency, accuracy, and that buttery smooth shooting experience cowboys dream about only with reduced recoil. Plus, they’re cast from lead so pure it practically glows with Wild West spirit. Why settle for generic factory ammo when you could be slinging Chey-Cast bullets out of Cowboy Choice Ammunition? Whether you’re hunting jackrabbits or impressing the crowd at a SASS meet, these rounds will have you hitting targets…

  Cowboy .40

.38-40 WCF COWBOYThe .38-40: A Caliber in Need of Cowboy Choice Back in 1874, Winchester introduced the .38-40 caliber, a fine cartridge that quickly became popular for both rifles and revolvers. But let’s be honest—if Cowboy Choice ammunition had been around back then, the Old West would have been a much better place. First off, no one could figure out why a .38-40 actually used a .401-inch bullet. You had cowboys arguing at the saloon, one swearing it was a .38, the other saying, “Well, then why’s my bullet fatter than my horse’s hoof?” Cowboy Choice would have had clear, no-nonsense packaging: “Shoots Straight, Stops Rustlers, Won’t Confuse Your Drinking Buddies.” Then there’s the black powder mess. One shot, and you were lost in a cloud of smoke, coughing like a city slicker in a hay barn. Cowboy Choice Smokeless Formula™ would have kept your lungs clean and your sights clear. Had Cowboy Choice been around in 1874, we’d probably still be using the .38-40 today—without all the confusion.

  Cowboy .41

.41 Remington Mag CowboyAh, the .41 Remington Magnum—because sometimes, the Wild West wasn’t just about packing a punch; it was about leaving a crater. Introduced in 1964, the .41 Magnum was Remington’s answer to the call for a powerful, medium-caliber round that would bridge the gap between the .357 Magnum and the legendary .44 Magnum. While it wasn’t the most common cartridge in the Old West (let’s be honest, the pioneers didn’t have the luxury of modern ammo), when it did show up, you could bet it wasn’t there for small talk. Imagine a gunslinger strolling into town with a revolver chambered for the .41 Magnum. The saloon doors swing open, the piano stops playing, and even the horses stop chewing hay. This round meant business. It was designed for lawmen and hunters who wanted a bit more oomph than the .38 Special but didn’t quite need to call in a howitzer. Now, fast-forward to today. The .41 Remington Magnum still commands respect, especially in the world of SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) events. But if you’re not using Cowboy Choice Ammunition, you might as well be trying to impress the crowd with a pocket watch. Cowboy Choice’s hand-loaded .41 Magnum rounds with…

  Cowboy .44

.44-40 WCF CowboyThe .44-40 caliber is the Old West’s version of a celebrity—a household name that didn’t need an introduction. Introduced in 1873, the .44-40 quickly became the round of choice for cowboys, lawmen, and even outlaws who wanted to make a statement with a bang that was louder than a sheriff’s reprimand. It was designed for both lever-action rifles and single-action revolvers, making it the first “dual-purpose” cartridge. Imagine being in a shootout with a revolver and rifle that shared the same ammo—you’d practically be a one-man army. No need for multiple calibers—just load up your trusty .44-40, pop it in both your rifle and your six-shooter, and go to town. But let’s not sugarcoat it. The .44-40 wasn’t exactly the quiet, well-behaved kid on the block. It was like bringing a bazooka to a knife fight—effective, sure, but definitely drawing attention. Cowboys loved it for its power, but it wasn’t for the faint of heart. It hit harder than a drunken cowboy trying to dance, and when it connected, it made a statement. Now, if you’re a SASS shooter, you need to make sure your .44-40 ammo is top-notch, and that’s where Cowboy Choice Ammunition steps in. Their hand-loaded .44-40…
.44 Special CowboyThe .44 Special is the Old West’s “underestimated cousin” of the .44 Magnum. Not as flashy as its big brother, but still packing a respectable punch. If the .44 Magnum is the “wild child” of calibers, the .44 Special is the more refined, “I’ll handle things calmly, thank you very much” sibling. Introduced in 1907, it was beloved by lawmen, sheriffs, and sometimes even outlaws who preferred a round that would knock the wind out of a bad guy without making the sheriff’s hat fly off in the process. It’s for the smooth, easy-going cowboy that doesn’t need to make a scene to get the job done. Now, in today’s SASS competitions, the .44 Special is still a beloved round. Why? Because it’s not here for drama; it’s here for results. Sure, the .44 Magnum might win the “loudest gunshot” award, but the .44 Special? It wins “smoothest shot” award.” If you’re enjoying your time in the SASS community at any level, you need Cowboy Choice Ammunition. Our mild shooting, hand-loaded .44 Special rounds with Chey-Cast bullets are more consistent than a stagecoach timetable and more reliable than a good ol’ cowboy handshake. It’s time to stop shooting like a…
.44 Magnum CowboyThe .44 Magnum—introduced in 1955, long after the Wild West had already become a dusty memory—would’ve completely changed the game had it been around back then. Imagine it: a gunslinger strolling into town with a .44 Magnum strapped to his side. The saloon doors swing open, the piano stops, and everyone stares. A tumbleweed pauses mid-roll, contemplating its life choices. This round wasn’t just a “bullet”—it was a statement. If the .44 Special was the refined cousin, the .44 Magnum was the big brother that only got invited to the poker table when things were about to get real. Bigger, louder, and with a recoil that could probably knock over a stagecoach, the .44 Magnum was built for those who wanted power, precision, and the ability to impress—maybe even intimidate—every person within a 5-mile radius. Now, in today’s SASS events, you don’t want to be caught with anything less than the best, and that’s where Cowboy Choice Ammunition comes in as the premium brand for the .440 Magnum. Ours are hand-loaded, have reduced recoil, and are actually pretty dang mild shooting. These .44 Magnum rounds, featuring Chey-Cast Bullets are a “must have” in your cart. Being smooth, consistent, and powerful,…

  Cowboy .45

.45 ACP Wild Bunch CowboyThe Wild Bunch crowd isn’t your average group of cowboy action shooters—they’re the kind of folks who decided six-shooters just weren’t rowdy enough. Throw in the .45 ACP, the cartridge of choice for semi-auto pistols and the very soul of the 1911. These shooters tip their hats to the infamous gang of outlaws from the movie The Wild Bunch and channel that high-octane energy straight to the range. Why settle for slow-draw revolvers when you can slap a magazine into a pistol and let those .45 rounds fly? But not just any .45 ACP will do. That’s where Cowboy Choice Ammunition steps in, with hand-loaded .45 ACP ammo with reduced recoil and flawless performance featuring Chey-Cast Bullets. These beauties are so precise, they’d make even a Wild Bunch gunslinger pause for admiration. Crafted with pure love and cowboy expertise, these rounds are smoother than a card sharp’s best bluff and more accurate than a sharpshooter on a good day. Shooting with Cowboy Choice is like tipping your Stetson to history while embracing the spirit of cinematic rebellion. With every pull of the trigger, you’ll feel like you’re starring in your own Wild West action scene—no bank robberies required.
.45 Colt Ammo Cowboy ActionOh ya, the .45 Colt—the revolver cartridge that really knew how to make an entrance in the Wild West. Introduced in 1873, it was the Wild West’s equivalent of a rodeo cowboy with a big belt buckle and even bigger ambitions. Picture this: A gunslinger walks into a dusty town, his boots kicking up the sand, and his holster housing a Colt single-action revolver chambered in .45 Colt. The saloon doors swing open, and every poker player freezes mid-hand. The piano player stops playing. Even the tumbleweed gives him a respectful roll. Why? Because this round was loud, proud, and guaranteed to leave a lasting impression—just like the gunslinger who carried it. But wait, the .45 Colt wasn’t just for revolvers—it was also used in lever-action rifles, making it a dual-purpose powerhouse. But today, in the modern world of SASS (Single Action Shooting Society), carrying a .45 Colt is less about making a dramatic entrance and more about hitting your target with precision. That’s where Cowboy Choice Ammunition comes in, but with a mild version of what others pretend to call their “cowboy action” ammo. Our hand-loaded .45 Colt rounds with Chey-Cast bullets emulate the pressures of the old black…
.45 Schofield CowboyAh, the .45 Schofield or .45 S&W—now there’s a round with some swagger. Introduced in 1875, the .45 Schofield was the Wild West’s answer to “who needs a cannon when you’ve got precision?” The Schofield was made for the Army, but that didn’t stop cowboys, lawmen, and outlaws from getting their hands on it. This round was like the Wild West’s version of a well-oiled machine: reliable, versatile, and able to fit into a Schofield revolver, but also in lever-action rifles for those who wanted a little more “oomph.” Picture a dusty cowboy, a six-shooter on his hip and the .45 Schofield round ready for action. He was as smooth as his revolver’s draw, quick with the shot, and efficient—after all, a cowboy’s time is as valuable as a gold nugget. The .45 Schofield could fire accurately and powerfully, and still fit comfortably in the hands of the shooter, making the package an efficient shooting machine. Fast-forward to today’s SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) events, and if you’re not shooting Cowboy Choice Ammunition, you’re missing out. Our reduced recoil hand-loaded .45 Schofield rounds feature our own Chey-Cast Bullets, bringing accuracy and reliability every shot of your match. Where every second…
.45-70 Govt CowboyOh ya,, the mighty .45-70 caliber—the heavy hitter of the Old West. Released in 1873, it was the Wild West’s version of calling in the big guns. Literally. Originally designed for the U.S. Army’s Springfield trapdoor rifle and then lever actions, the .45-70 was a serious upgrade from the smaller calibers that had come before it. It was so powerful, it could stop a charging buffalo in its tracks- or roll a runaway outlaw off his horse faster than a tumbleweed in a dust storm. If you were carrying the .45-70, it wasn’t just about the shot; it was about sending a message: “I’m here, and I don’t need to explain myself.” Cowboys and hunters quickly adopted the .45-70 for their own, especially when it came to hunting bison. It became the go-to cartridge for taking down large game, making it the western equivalent of wielding a sledgehammer at a watermelon contest. But beyond its brute force, the .45-70 also had the precision needed to handle a long-range shot—if you had the right rifle, that is. The rifle didn’t always make the shot, but it sure made the impact. Fast-forward to today’s SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) events. You still…
